Founding Co-Executive Director

Erica is a healthcare futurist who is passionate about imagining a future of healthcare that is family-centered, art-filled, and tech-enabled. Throughout her career, Erica has led marketing strategy, corporate communications, business development, and online community management for several companies in the healthcare and emerging technology sectors.

Erica is a mom of three and is the primary caregiver for her youngest son who has chronic and complex health conditions including vocal cord paralysis resulting from an aggressive brain cancer diagnosis and brain stem stroke complication. Additionally, she personally endures a myriad of autoimmune conditions, including alopecia universalis (AU) that has resulted in complete hair loss. Erica’s patient and caregiver advocacy earned her recognition as one of Medika’s 2022 Top 50 Most Influential Voices of Healthcare.

After spending a career in healthcare, Erica is now focused on sharing insights into her personal patient and caregiving experience with the industry at large to ignite and inspire meaningful change toward a future healthcare economy that is outcome-focused, humanely inspired, and family-centered.

As a recognized speaker, Erica covers topics including patient engagement, patient experience, caregiver support, and how to leverage social media as a thought leader. She has served on the board of advisors for HIT Like a Girl and CONSCRIPTS and previously served as the President of the DFW Xavier Alumni Chapter and as a board member for Social Media Club Dallas and DFW HIMSS.

Erica is an Ironman triathlete, dedicated philanthropist, and community leader. She completed the Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy program through the Communities Texas Foundation in 2019 and maintains her partnership with Social Venture Partners Dallas following her completion of the 2018 Dana Juett Residency program. Notably, this year she launched a non-profit called August's Artists to provide hospitalized children and their families with access to coloring materials and artwork commemoration that inspires healing.

Josette serves as Senior Communications Specialist for Pioneering Collective, an executive thought leadership firm. Prior to immersing herself in the world of media relations, Josette built her career as an entrepreneur, copywriter, podcast producer, and graphic artist. A first generation American, native-born Texan, and self-professed sushi aficionado - Josette spends her free time cooking for friends, studying astrology, and writing children's books. She currently resides in Ennis, Texas with her husband and their two kids.s here

Director of Content Strategy

Leslie is an educational advocate passionate about improving access to educational experiences for neurodivergent children, teens and adults; while also hoping to bring an element of empathy and understanding to all involved as to the "Why" behind the behavior.

Director of Strategic Execution

Mina is a digital strategist with experience in digital marketing, data analytics and strategic planning. She helps brands reach their ideal target audience for increased visibility while also improving operations for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

Fleet Feet is an American franchisor of locally owned and operated running stores founded in 1976 in Sacramento, California. The company provides running shoes, apparel, and accessories for both men and women.

Furthermore, Feet Fleet has so generously partnered with August’s Artists in hosting fundraisers and providing a true sense of community.

Brooke is the sister of Erica and the aunt of August. She is passionate about holistic healing and firmly believes that true healing begins with alignment within the body, achieved by living from the heart and embracing creative expression and harmonic resonance. Brooke is also interested in the application of blockchain technology to enhance the human experience and support healing from a grounded state of being. She is deeply grateful and excited to be part of this incredible project and mission.
